01. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, enabling, adding to Chrome, or using the VocaRead Chrome extension ("VocaRead" or "the Extension"), you enter into a legally binding agreement with Thuong Studio ("we", "our", or "us") and agree to be governed strictly by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not unconditionally agree to these Terms, you must immediately uninstall and cease all use of the Extension.
Age Eligibility: You represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age, or have reached the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction. Users under 18 must use the Extension only under legal guardian supervision.
02. IMPORTANT HEALTH & PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING VOCAREAD:
VocaRead utilizes Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP), a visual technique that rapidly flashes text word-by-word at high speeds (e.g., 200–1000+ Words Per Minute) with visual focal highlights.
- Photosensitive Epilepsy & Seizures: A small percentage of individuals may experience epileptic seizures, disorientation, migraines, or loss of consciousness when exposed to rapidly flashing visual patterns or high-speed text sequences. If you or anyone in your household has an epileptic condition or photosensitivity, consult a physician before using VocaRead.
- Eye Strain & Visual Fatigue: Reading text at extreme speeds or for prolonged periods may induce eye strain, fatigue, dry eyes, or headaches. Take frequent breaks and reduce WPM speed if you feel discomfort.
- Discontinue Use Immediately: If you experience dizziness, altered vision, eye twitching, involuntary movements, nausea, or disorientation, STOP USING VOCAREAD IMMEDIATELY and consult a healthcare provider.
Thuong Studio explicitly disclaims any liability for health issues, injuries, eye strain, or medical conditions resulting from your use of the RSVP speed reader.
03. Description of Service & Disclaimers
VocaRead is a client-side browser utility for rendering text via RSVP. It is provided strictly for convenience and productivity experimentation.
No Educational or Medical Claims: VocaRead is not a medical device, therapeutic software, or certified educational diagnostic tool. We make no representations or guarantees regarding reading speed improvement, memory retention, reading comprehension, or suitability for individuals with dyslexia, ADHD, or visual impairments.
04. Third-Party Content & Copyright Disclaimer
VocaRead processes text content selected or input by you from third-party websites, articles, PDFs, or documents.
- User Responsibility: You represent that you possess the lawful right, permission, or license to access and read any text processed using the Extension.
- No Hosting or Caching: Thuong Studio does not host, index, store, retransmit, or republish third-party text or articles. All parsing occurs strictly in transient local device memory.
- Copyright Infringement Shield: Thuong Studio assumes zero liability for copyright infringement, DMCA violations, or breaches of third-party website Terms of Service committed by users who extract or speed-read protected text via the Extension.
05. Local Storage & Account Independence
VocaRead operates without account registration or remote user profiles. Configuration preferences are stored locally in your browser sandbox. You are responsible for preserving your local device security and managing extension installation state.
06. Purchases, Licensing & Payments
If VocaRead offers paid licenses or premium feature unlocks:
- Transactions are processed securely through the Chrome Web Store or authorized merchant partners.
- Purchases grant a non-transferable license to use premium extension features subject to platform policies.
- Refund requests are handled in accordance with Chrome Web Store developer refund rules and applicable local consumer protection laws.
07. Intellectual Property Ownership
The VocaRead extension name, code, layout, algorithms, visual styles, branding, and assets are the exclusive intellectual property of Thuong Studio (thuong.studio) protected by international copyright, trademark, and software patent laws.
08. License Grant and Usage Restrictions
Thuong Studio grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and execute VocaRead on Chrome browsers you own or control.
You shall NOT:
- Decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or extract source code from the Extension package
- Modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works, or resell the Extension
- Bypass or attempt to circumvent extension licensing, security sandbox, or feature lock mechanisms
- Use the Extension for automated data scraping, spamming, or unlawful activities
09. Complete Disclaimer of Warranties
VOCAREAD IS PROVIDED STRICTLY ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY OF PARSED TEXT, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
Thuong Studio makes no representation that text extraction will correctly format all website layouts, dynamic scripts, paywalls, or document structures.
10. Absolute Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THUONG STUDIO OR ITS OWNER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF COMPREHENSION, HEALTH INJURIES, EYE STRAIN, OR COMPUTER DISRUPTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF VOCAREAD.
THUONG STUDIO'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS OF ANY KIND SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR VOCAREAD IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, OR (B) TEN UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $10.00).
11. Full User Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Thuong Studio and its owner from and against any third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, or legal fees resulting from: (a) your use or misuse of VocaRead; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your infringement of any third-party copyright, intellectual property, or privacy right.
12. Binding Arbitration & Class Action Waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS:
YOU AND THUONG STUDIO AGREE THAT ALL DISPUTES SHALL BE RESOLVED SOLELY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS ACTION, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
You explicitly waive any right to initiate, join, or participate in class action lawsuits, class-wide arbitrations, or private attorney general actions against Thuong Studio.
13. Governing Law and Forum Selection
These Terms and any dispute arising hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Prior to initiating legal proceedings, you agree to submit your claim to informal negotiation by contacting Thuong Studio at support@thuong.studio for at least 30 days. Unresolved disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Vietnam.
14. Changes to Terms
Thuong Studio reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be indicated by revising the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. Continued use of VocaRead after changes indicates acceptance.
15. Privacy Policy Incorporation
Your use of VocaRead is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
16. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed or modified to the minimum extent necessary, and all remaining provisions shall remain in full force. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Thuong Studio regarding VocaRead.
17. Extension Discontinuation
Thuong Studio reserves the right to modify, restrict, or discontinue VocaRead or any feature at any time without liability.
